A pawn is a short term collateral loan. Pawning is the original form of banking and has been around for thousands of years. The way a pawn works is, you simply bring us an item of value that you wish to pawn. We offer you a dollar amount and we then generate a legal contract that explains everything in detail. The contract explains the amount of time you have and the amount of money you will have to pay at the end of your loan date. You have the option to renew your loan as many times as you want and the pawnbroker is there to help you understand and give you the best option.

How a Pawn Loan Works

When your loan(s) due date is getting close, we at Fancy Jewelry & Loan do everything in our power to get in contact with you. We send notice via mail. We also do courtesy phone calls and text messages to remind you about your loan. Our clients also have the option to pay online from their home to renew their loans. Some clients redeem their loans when it is getting closer to their due date, but, most customers also choose the option to renew their loan by only paying the interest.

We do not check for credit nor do we ask for social security information. Your collateral is your credit history.

2. Valid ID, Matricula, or Passport

If you Pawn your item, you’re using the item as collateral for a loan. The item is still yours, pawnbrokers will just hold onto the item as collateral in the event of a default on the loan. The Pawnbroker cannot sell the item during the period of the loan (usually 4 months.)

If you Sell your item, you are outright transferring ownership of the item to the pawnbroker in exchange for cash. The item will now belong to the Pawnbroker, where they may choose to Sell it or otherwise do what they want with it.
